Hey... did you know that we (Six Apart, that is) are hiring? We have a bunch of open positions, but the most important one, by far, is that of QA Engineer. Are you a QA Engineer? Are you good at it? Do you live in or near San Francisco?

Gah! Curse my lack of Perl experience and non-wish for a QA job...

I hope you find someone, I know how bad it is to really need a good QA engineer and not have one - let me know if you ever need an OO PHP5 specialist who loves web services ;-)

Well, your lack of Perl certainly isn't a problem... especially if you know PHP. Perl is pretty similar.

If you find yourself turning around on the desire to do QA, then lemme know. You, my friend, are hired.

Thanks re the Perl validation - I do read Perl and mess with it on my own, it's just a lack of commercial Perl-Time, if you see what I mean, so I've always kinda believed that I could do a Perl-heavy job with a couple of weeks to spin up the Perl parts of my brain.

As for turning around on QA, I know what I am like / where my strength really are __and__ I want to remain your friend, so no matter how tempting what you said above might be (and believe me it IS tempting) we would not remain friends if I blagged my way into SixApart as a QA Engineer when you really need one...
