March of the Chicken Wings
One awesome thing about living here in Honolulu is that I get to live in the same town as my friend Simon. Simon is the director of natural and gourmet foods for the Islands' major grocery store chain. Every once in a while, he calls me up to announce that it's "free meat day". This means that some meat vendor has sent them samples... way too many samples. The other day I was offered a two foot by one foot pan of ground lamb. A couple of weeks ago, Simon and I had lunch, and I came home with about 10 pounds of salami. Last week, I came home and found ten pounds of chicken wings (two varieties) on my doorstep.
Knowing the chicken wings were perishable, I started in on them right away. For the last week or so, I've eaten chicken wings for at least one meal a day. Today, I finally hit a wall. I don't think I can eat another Caribbean spice chicken wing again for a long time.
Buffalo, on the other hand, will never get old.
