Bring Your Own Big Wheel

Somewhere around two hundred somewhat ridable kiddie toys barreled down Lombard Street in a loosely organized "race". I missed the first run, but got to ride the next two, and then loaned my Big Wheel to a friend for the final run. I'm happy to report that I made it through the day uninjured, although there were some definite close calls.

Next year, I'm definitely wearing a costume. I saw so much funny shit yesterday, I'm still laughing over it. I kept getting entangled with a dude in a gorilla suit, and I kept wishing he'd catch up with the guy in the banana suit and they would battle. The best thing I saw, though, was during the last run when I was watching from the sidelines. I was positioned near the third turn. I turned my head in time to see, sliding sideways around the turn and heading quickly for the wall, Mario and Luigi, locked up side by side. I half expected one of them to start tossing banana peels.
