Car tires:

Number required: 4
Approximate cost to replace all of them: $150
Estimated life of said tires: 50,000 miles

Motorcycle tires:

Number required: 2
Approximate cost to replace both of them: $350
Estimated life of said tires: 10,000 miles for the rear, 20,000 for the front

*sigh*

I just put new tires on the V-Strom (the big black bike), which means I have to ride it like an old lady (that is, how an old lady would ride it, not how I would ride an old lady. Don't be gross.) for a hundred miles. Looking around the garage, the BMW also needs at least a rear tire, and one of the scooters needs tires too. Fortunately, the scooter tires are only $50/each usually, and I can replace them myself.

I hate motorcycles. Please come take them.

lucky! i just had to replace my tires too-- except they cost $200 each.

yeah, i just had to replace 2 tires on my car - $100 each. where are you getting your car tires?

Oh, I don't' know... My car isn't fancy in any way, and I usually just get whatever cheap tires Costco has. Ok.. maybe it's more than $150, but still...

Funny - I called to get prices on Mini Cooper tries and the guy gleefully (I might add) told me he could do all four for only $1350. Uh, yeah. If run flats are THAT much more, I'd rather just buy a few extra tires and leave them in the trunk. Oh, well - I went with regular tires but it still cost close to $650.
